Free Activities

  • Library -our public libraries offer many multi-week programs (pre-registration is required) as well as some drop-in crafts events centered around special occasions and holidays. The Moncton library also has a puppet theatre, table top toys, puzzles and more to enjoy.
  • Talk with Me/Parle-Moi - many language development services and programs as well as baby massage
  • Greater Moncton Family Resource Centre – from musical mornings, parent & tot, parenting classes and more.
  • Owen's Art Gallery - Mount Allison University, Sackville, general admission is free but they also have a Family Sunday each month from 2-4.
  • Scholar’s Choice – Craft table, train table and doll house set up for drop-in play while shopping as well as themed daily drop-in crafts and themed special events (sometimes $5 special event fee applies)
  • Michael’s - The Knack craft and science classes offered in-store on occasional Saturdays
  • Home Depot - Kid’s Workshop (2nd Saturday of every month)
  • Playgroups - Many community playgroups offer parents an opportunity to connect with other parents and allow your child to work on their social development while they’re having fun.
  • Parent & Tot Skates - Byron Dobson Arena in Riverview
  • Adult and Preschooler Skates - Centennaire Arena and Arthur-J-LeBlanc arenas in Dieppe
  • Sliding - good old fashioned tobaganning, check our sliding list for location details.
  • Ball Pit and Play Structure at the Boardwalk
  • Hiking - The Greater Moncton area has many parks and trails to enjoy walks in nature in search of treasures.
  • My Gym - fitness and fun for kids - take your children to a free trial class.
  • Family Movie - The Town of Riverview presents a PG film one Saturday afternoon each month.
  • Parks & Playgrounds - neighbourhood parks are always crowd pleasers and you can always make an adventure out of it by visiting different ones throughout the Greater Moncton area. Check our parks and playground list which links to Google maps for location details. Most parks are still accessible and just as fun in the winter.
  • Splash park – located at Centennial Park and in Riverview (50 Runneymeade Rd. behind the Coverdale Rec Centre)
  • Irving Eco-Centre, La Dune de Bouctouche - 1932 Route 475 Bouctouche, enjoy interpretive walks and exhibits or pack a picnic and have a swim.
  • Outdoor Movies - Friday nights at Caseley park in Riverview at dusk in the summer months.
  • Outdoor Concerts - Weekly concerts in Riverview, Moncton and Dieppe during the summer months.
  • Take a drive to the Wind Turbine Farm in Albert County

  • Moncton Museum - admission is by donation
  • Parent & Tot bowling - Fairlanes (Mountain Rd) first Friday of each month. $3.00 per child (adults and newborns are free)
  • Public Swims - Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre, Dieppe Aquatic Centre, YMCA, St. Pat’s all offer public swims
