The Moncton Public Library

The Library is offering a variety of programs for children during the March School Break :

Tuesday, March 2 at 11am – Author Presentation
Children’s author Diane Carmel Léger will give an animated presentation based on her books Maxine’s Tree and Who’s in Maxine’s Tree which will give appeal to tree huggers ages 6 to 9.

Tuesday, March 2 at 2pm – Magic Show Let yourself be carried into the wonderful world of illusions with magician Rémi Boudreau. For children ages 5 and up.

Tuesday, March 2 at 6pm - Teen Coffee House Teens are invited to grab a table and capture the spotlight. Read your poetry, strum a guitar, sing a song, perform a skit, tell a joke or just hang out with friends. No registration required.

Wednesday, March 3 at 2pm – Funky Bracelets Children ages 8 and up can join us to make some funky bracelets.

Thursday, March 4 at 2pm – Mexican Fiesta Come to our Mexican fiesta. There will be Mexican games, music, dancing, crafts, food and, of course, a piñata! For children ages 5 and up.

All programs are free of charge but space is limited so you must pre-register beginning February 22 by visiting the library at 644 Main Street or by calling 869-6036 during open hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Tuesday and Saturday from 10am to 9pm.


Dans le cadre de la semaine de relâche, la Bibliothèque publique de Moncton présentera une panoplie d’activités intéressantes pour les jeunes.

Le mardi 2 mars à 10h – Rencontre d’auteure L’auteure du livre L’arbre de Maxine, Diane Carmel Léger, fera une animation de lecture pour les jeunes âgés de 6 à 9 ans.

Le mardi 2 mars à 14h – Spectacle de magie Le magicien renommé Rémi Boudreau nous transportera dans un univers d’illusions extraordinaires. Pour les jeunes âgés de 5 ans et plus.

Le mardi 2 mars à 18h - Soirée mots et musique pour les adolescents Les adolescents sont invités à prendre place et à entrer en scène. Lis ta poésie, joue de la guitare, chante une chanson, joue un sketch, raconte une blague ou passe tout simplement la soirée avec nous. Inscription non requise.

Le mercredi 3 mars à 14h – Création de bijoux Un atelier de création bijoux originaux pour les jeunes âgés de 8 ans et plus.

Le jeudi 4 mars à 14h – Fiesta mexicaine Les jeunes de 5 ans et plus seront transportés vers le Mexique lors d’une fête remplie d’activités à saveur mexicaine.

Le vendredi 5 mars à 14h – Présentation de films ONF (en anglais) Les films de l’ONF Runaway et Finding Farley seront présentés pour toute la famille. Du maïs soufflé et des breuvages seront servis. Pour les enfants de 5 ans et plus et leur famille.

Ces activités sont gratuites, mais les places sont limitées. Il faut donc s’inscrire à l’avance à partir du 22 février en composant le 869-6036 ou en visitant la bibliothèque au 644, rue Main durant les heures d’ouverture : lundi, jeudi, vendredi et samedi de 10h à 17h et mardi et mercredi de 10h à 21h.

Tuesday, March 2 at 2:00 pm, 2:35 pm, 3:10 pm - Magic - Craig Davidson will present a program of magic when he performs a selection of card tricks to children aged 6 and over. This is a 25 minute program.

Wednesday, March 3 from 2-4pm - Board Games – A variety of board games will be available for children aged 6+

Crafts - Drop in crafts will be available all week for a variety of ages. If you need a break from routine, visit the library and discover your artistic side.

Nails - for tweens and teens. Be the envy of your peers when they see your beautiful nails. Date and time to be announced. tentatively scheduled.

Registration for the magic show, board games and nails is required and may be done in person or by telephone (387-2108) beginning February 24th.

Chapters

Every day during March Break, Chapters will be offering free activities for children. No registration needed and for more information call 855-8075.

Monday, March 1 - Twister and other Hasbro classics for all ages

Tuesday, March 2 - The Wimpy Kid: make a diary and enjoy other activities (ages 6+)

Wednesday, March 3 – Friendship Bracelets**, all ages.

Thursday, March 4 – Olivia, watch the Treehouse show and participate in other activities. (ages 3+)

Friday, March 5 - Puffin Books Birthday Party (ages 5+)

Ville de Dieppe - Journée Cabane à sucre/Maple Sugar Camp

Un brunch, dégustation de produits d’érable, promenade en traineau, et musique sont à l’horaire lors de la cabane à sucre présentée par l’association scout de Dieppe au Parc Rotary St-Anselme. Venez en grand nombre!

Visit to a Sugar Camp Brunch, sampling of maple products, a sleigh ride, and music are all on the schedule at the sugarhouse sponsored by the Dieppe Scout Association at St-Anselme Rotary Park. Everyone is welcome!
