Write the lyrics of some of your children’s favourite songs on recipe cards (I laminated the cards to make them last longer) and include a graphic that the kids can recognize and relate to the song (i.e. star for Twinkle Twinkle, Spider for Itsy Bitsy Spider, barn and animals for Old MacDonald). Let them take turns picking from the “magical song box” -a colourfully decorated box and enjoy! Finger play songs and ones with special dance moves (like the bird/chicken dance) are particularily fun! –Janet, mother of two boys.
